Five Great Places for a Drink Near Banff & Lake Louise

Banff and Lake Louise offer fantastic drink options featuring unique flavors and impressive presentations - both cocktails and mocktails! Whether you enjoy craft soda or robust beer flavors, here are my five favorite places to have a drink. Also...these are in no particular order because I love them all!

Banff Ave. Brewing Co. (Banff). This is a must-visit while in Banff! They brew their own beer and have the most spectacular outdoor balcony to watch the world go by. The drinks are great, the ambiance is wonderful and they have a great dining menu, as well. There is even a shop on the lower level where you can purchase Banff Ave. Brewing Co. gear!

Eddie Burger+Bar (Banff). If you've read some of my other blog posts, you may start to think I am obsessed with this place. That would be correct. I don't recall how we stumbled upon it, but during my first visit to Banff, we stopped here and fell in love. Now, we stop here multiple times each time we visit Banff. My favorite drink to get is the Trash Can. It's their most popular drink and features an energy drink, and a delicious mixture of alcohol. Pro tip: don't drink it at night! The Eddie also offers milkshakes with or without a booze infusion. This is another must visit for me!

Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Co. (Canmore). If you're staying in Canmore or visiting for the day, Grizzly Paw is a great place to stop for food! They brew their own beer and soda. There is indoor and outdoor seating and you'll find their brews at other restaurants and grocery stores in Canmore.

Sky Bistro (Banff). My wedding reception was at Sky Bistro so I'm a little impartial to this place, but the views are simply incredible. The restaurant has been voted one of the best in Banff, so reservations are definitely recommended especially during the busy summer season. Depending on the time of year, there are sometimes packages which include gondola admission. I should note, you can't reach the restaurant without paying for admission to the Banff Gondola. Again, reservations are suggested. It gets so busy in the summer months!

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (Lake Louise). A visit to Lake Louise is a must-do on your trip to the Banff area. Whether you're staying at the hotel or simply visiting for the portion of the day, you'll be left in awe. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise offers stunning views, delicious food and plenty of drink options. It is worth noting that during certain times of the year, hotel access is limited to hotel guests. Near the Christmas / New Year holidays, the hotel has an ice bar near the outdoor ice rink which is truly an incredible experience. Check out the hotel website prior to your visit to ensure you're ready for your visit.
